I love Georgette Heyer – I’ve already posted twenty adoring reviews of her novels. I also adore this one, but I freely admit, it’s a bit different. The title says it all, because in the Regency marriage was, apart from an institution, a civil contract, a rock-solid one that required an Act of Parliament to worm out of.
